Padraig Harrington leads PGA Tour Champions Shaw Charity Classic

Harrington scored the same as his lowest score on the PGA Tour Champions and it was his best opening round on the 50-and older circuit. The Charles Schwab Cup standings have Harrington, a 50-year old Irishman, second, although he is still quite far behind Steven Alker.

Harrington has already won the U.S. Senior Open once this year. Over the past eight rounds, he has not been outside of the top seven on leaderboard.

Triplett was on the Canyon Meadows back nine and was 3 under through 2 holes after his birdie eagle start.

He was runner up at the Shaw Charity Classic in 2004.
