Former Ryder Cup player Barry Lane dies at age 62

Barry Lane, a former Ryder Cup player who was also a five-time European Tour winner, has passed away at the age 62, DP World Tour stated in a Sunday statement.

Lane was a participant in 693 events of the European Tour, now known as DP World Tour. He is fourth on the Tours all time appearance list.

He won the 1988 Scottish Open by three strokes at Gleneagles.

The Englishman also participated in the 1993 Ryder Cup, where Team Europe was defeated at The Belfry by the United States.
