PATTAYA (Thailand) — Maja Stark was one shot ahead of Natthakritta Vongtaveelap, who finished strong with six birdies on nine to win the second round of the LPGA Thailand.
The 20-year-old Thai player had 2 birdies against a Bogey on the front nine, followed by 6 more birdies, including 4 straight on Nos. 12-15 for 12-under 132 at Siam Country Club.
Vongtaveelap said, I played according my game plan even if I didnt putt as well at the front nine, and she earned her Q-school tour card in December. But once I started making birdies at my back, I felt more confident.
She has won all three of the events she competed in this season, two of which were on a local tour.
Vongtaveelap stated, Ofcourse Im confident in my game now. But other players have more experience that I do.
Stark was bogey-free at 67
The 23-year-old Swede stated that it was very steady. I think I only really needed to save one. Solid irons
Nelly Korda (66), had an eagle at the 10th, along with five birdies (bogey) to share third at 10, under with Celine Boutier (66) Emily Kristine Pedersen 67, Jaravee Boonchant 69 and Jenny Shin (68).
