Masters 2023 Tee Times: Start times and pairings for the first round at Augusta National
Kyodo News
Most golfers around the world dream of being able to tee off at Augusta National. For 88 fortunate folks, they’ve done just that by earning a place in the field at the 87th Masters.
Just who they’re playing with was finally revealed on Tuesday as the club released threesome groups for the first and second rounds.
Many wondered how Masters officials would handle the 18 LIV golf league players competing this week. They could either have them spread out across the entire field, or have them play in their own groups. It turned out to have been the former with all players, including well-known pros Brooks Koepka (Phil Mickelson), Dustin Johnson and Cameron Smith competing in threesomes against PGA Tour or DP World Tour competitors.
Officially, defending champion Scottie Schffler (a Texas grad), was paired with U.S. Amateur champion Sam Bennett (a Texas A&M senior), which should make for some interesting banter as they walk the fairways. They’ll be joined by Max Homa in Thursday’s third-to-last tee time (1:36 p.m.).
What about Tiger Woods, five-time Masters champion? He will be playing alongside Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele and the first round starts at 10:18 a.m. Thursday morning.
Here are the tee times of the competition’s first two days. Now, let’s all cross our fingers the rain holds off.
