PuttOut Review

Key Takeaways

  • The PuttOut pressure putt trainer is a compact tool that allows you to practice wherever you are.
  • This training aid can be used indoors on a mat or outdoors on a real green.
  • What’s so great about the device is that it forces you to hit a perfect putt to stick in the mirco-target.

Continue reading to learn about this unique training tool and how it could help you save shots when playing on the greens.

Unique Design

The following are some of the ways to get in touch with each other: PuttOut pressure trainerThis is a foldable golf hole that you can putt into instead of the normal hole. Here’s how the device works according to PuttOut.

“With a scientifically shaped parabolic ramp, each ‘made’ putt is returned to the player the same distance it would have gone past the hole had it missed, anything else is a miss. Only putts of absolute perfection will hold in the micro-target, so let the practice begin.”

To get the ball to stick in the micro-target you need to hit it with perfect speed – about 18 inches past the cup. Otherwise, the ball rolls up the ramp (which has the same diameter as a standard golf hole) and returns the ball to the player. This gives you an immediate feedback of how far you would miss the putt.

Upgraded Design

The original PuttOut pressure trainer was great but the new “Premium” model got some nice upgrades including:

  • Alignment Setup: There is now a hole at the top of the device to insert an alignment stick to replicate the “string drill.” This is a big upgrade as this is a top golf drill used by elite golfers.
  • Alternate TargetsThe new design includes three alternate targets to help you focus on something small. It’s also great if you have breaks in your mat so that you can focus on the left or the right side of the cup.
  • MicrotargetYou will never lose your target point because there is no longer a visible pop-down.

These trainers can be found in white, black, red, and many other limited edition colours. Plus, the Platinum design is available for an even more stunning look.

More PuttOut training aids

PuttOut has a wide range of putting aids for your short game. Here are a few of our favorites.

Devil Ball Golf

Golf is hard and putting is even harder… So why not make it even harder? Or, devilishly tough?

The Devil Ball Golf Ball has the same weight and size as a golf ball. But there’s one major difference – the ball has flat edges, not a perfect circle. This makes it much more difficult to get the balls rolling and straight like normal.

There are three difficulty levels, so it is suitable for all types golfers. You can also use it in conjunction with the PuttOut Pressure Trainer, for a more efficient practice session.

Compact Putting Mirror

Mirrors are a great way to improve your putting. They allow you to see your eyes in relation to your ball. To make a consistent stroke, your eyes should be directly above the ball or slightly below it. This compact mirrorCan help you do that.

But it’s not like most putting mirrors… Here’s how according to PuttOut. “Covering the absolute essentials of eye alignment and putter face position, the Mirror is built with shatterproof and scratch proof upper, and encased in a mid-tack rubber surround, complete with 1.5 mm spikes covering the bottom of the product to hold it in place on any putting surface.”

It’s very durable, compact, and works on any type of putting green or mat. It’s a no-brainer if you travel too but want to take your putting mirror with you.

Finally, don’t forget they have an indoor putting mat as well. Indoor putting greens are great because they allow you to improve your short-range game while practicing in the comfort of home.

Their medium matThe green speed is 10, it rolls flat and without creases. It has alignment lines that ensure your alignment and putter is square to the target. It’s ideal for tight spaces and comes with a bag for easy storage.

Paired with the mirror, Devil Ball, and Pressure Trainer, you’ll have everything you need to make more putts.

FAQ about PuttOut Training Aids

Have you got more questions about PuttOut and/or other training tools for your short-game? Continue reading to find out more about the frequently asked questions.

Is the PuttOut Pressure Trainer worth it?

Yes, it’s one of the most highly reviewed and loved training aids for putting. I’ve used it myself for quite some time and always enjoy the challenge of this device. It works well with an indoor mat to help you practice your putting stroke at home.

How to use a PuttOut Pressure Putt Trainer?

Drop a ball on the device (or use a Devil Ball). If you hit the “perfect putt” the ball will come to rest in the small micro target. If you miss the hole, the ball will bounce up the ramp.

How do I use a PuttOut Mirror?

The compact putting-mirror is a great accessory to your golf game. You put your golf ball in the hole and then check your eye position once you’re standing over it. You can also check alignment of the putter face.

You can then roll your putts. Just make sure you have your eyes and your putter in the right position.

PuttOut Pressure Trainer Review

My Experience

It is easy to use, but not so simple to master. When you pair the Devil Ball with this device, you’ll need to make perfect putts. But that’s a good thing as you want to make practice harder so golf on the course feels easier.

A coach once told me that you perform better in practice than in a normal round and even worse during competition. Even the best golfers can feel the pressure and nerves of tournament golf. By using these devices, you can make practice sessions much more difficult. This can lead to better performance on the course.
