Lydia Ko returns to country of her birth to win BMW Ladies

WONJU (South Korea) Lydia Ko won her 18th career title after finishing a 7-under 65 final round at Sundays BMW Ladies Championship.

Ko finished the South Korea-based tournament at 21 under 267. This was four strokes more than Andrea Lee, who had a final round score of 3 under 69.

Ko stated that this is probably the best I have played, and the most consistent Ive ever played,

I played the back nine very well in all four rounds. That was the key to me.

Ko was 15 under after she hit a bogey at Number. 7, before firing six birdies to finish the pack.

Every time that I come back to Korea even though I play under New Zealand flag, so many people stand behind me… Ko said, I believe that is such a boost.

Third place was tied with Hyo Joo Kim, Hye-Jin Choi and Lilia Vu. They all finished at 16-under 272.

Atthaya Thitikul finished fourth after a disappointing round of 2 under 74 on Sunday, with five bogeys, and only three birdies.
