SNOQUALMIE WA — Miguel Angel Jimenez won on Sunday the Boeing Classic to win his third PGA Tour Champions title. He closed with a 5-under 67. David McKenzieTwo strokes.
Jimenez tied for the lead Billy AndradeThe round began with five holes parred and five birdies. The 58-year old Spanish star finished at 15-under-201 at The Club on Snoqualmie Ridge.
Jimenez said, Two bogeys at the first nine holes of this tournament and then the final 45 holes is birdie free. I make 14 birdies in the final 45 holes.
Jimenez has 12 senior victories and won two of three events this year. He was a 21-time winner on the European tour.
Jimenez stated, The key is to hit good. I feel confident with my game. I feel confident with my game, from the tee to the bag. I played solid. Very solid.
McKenzie shot a 66. Andrade was tied for third with a 71. Stephen Ames(69) at 11 below
Charles Schwab Cup leader Steven Alker(69) was 10 below. Jerry Kelly(68) was followed by Kelly at 9 under one week after winning Shaw Charity Classic in Calgary. Alker, Kelly and Jimemez are tied for the tour victory lead.
