PGA Tour takes CJ Cup from South Korea to South Carolina

Because of travel restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the PGA Tour has moved the CJ Cup from South Korea to compete in the upcoming PGA Tour.

This year, the event will take place at the Congaree Golf Club, Ridgeland in South Carolina. Las Vegas was the location of the previous two tournaments.

The field of 78 players includes 15 of the top 20 world ranking players. Twenty-one of the top 20 players from the CJ Cup in Las Vegas last year are now part LIV Golf and are not eligible to play.

Congaree held a PGA Tour tournament last year to replace Canada Open, which was still restricted by travel restrictions. Garrick HiggoHe won the event. He is not in the CJ Cup field.

Rickie FowlerHe is exempted from sponsor restrictions. He has two top-10 finishes in his three starts, including a runner up finish in Japan last week. Harris EnglishHe was granted an exemption. He missed the first half last year because he was recovering from hip surgery. Rory McIlroySince missing the cut in FedEx St. Jude Championship, has five consecutive top-10s, one of which was a win.
