Will Zalatoris withdraws from BMW Championship with back injury

Will ZalatorisA back injury caused me to withdraw during Saturdays third round of the BMW Championship.

Zalatoris shot a 3 under-par 139 in the first round to enter play on Saturday, five strokes behind the leader Adam ScottAustralia

After teeing off on Saturdays fourth hole, he was four shots behind. He walked slowly down the fairway, finishing the hole. However, he tried to stretch out before the fifth hole, but that did not work, so he decided to withdraw from the tournament.

Zalatoris just won his first PGA Tour title. He defeated Austrian Sepp StrakaIn a playoff on Sunday, to win the FedEx St. Jude Championships in Memphis, Tennessee.

Zalatoris, who turns 26 on Tuesday, is ranked 9th in the world.

He is most famous for his near misses at major championships during his early career. He finished second at 2021 Masters, before he was officially a full PGA Tour member.

After losing to him at the PGA Championship, he finished second this year. Justin ThomasIn a playoff and tied second at the U.S. Open.
