Abraham Ancer leads Saudi Invitational entering final round

KING ABDULLAH ECONOMIC CITY, Saudi Arabia — Abraham AncerTo increase his lead by two shots, he shot a 6-under 64 Cameron YoungSaturday will be the final round in the Saudi International.

Young and Ancer, who were the PGA Tour rookies of the year with a 65, have distinguished themselves from the field at the $5 million Asian Tour event.

Young was two shots ahead of Ancer at 17-under 193. Another five shots separated the next group of players, which included Matthew Wolff (63).

Ancer, who holds dual citizenship in Mexico and the United States, has won two top tours, including a World Golf Championship held in Tennessee. Young is still trying to win his first top tour win.

The tournament featured the majority Saudi-funded LIV Golf golf players, whose season does not start for three more weeks. Ancer joined LIV Golf last summer after the U.S. Open. Young is still a member of the PGA Tour, but he has been targeted for LIV Golf. Young received a conflicting release from LIV Golf to play.
