Bryson DeChambeaus Bridgestone sponsorship relationship halted amid his involvement in Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour

Bryson deChambeauESPN confirmed that Bridgestone and golf ball manufacturer Bridgestone had agreed to end their sponsorship relationship.

Golf.com first reported the news after DeChambeau had decided to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series tour.

The PGA Tour is a very important part of professional golf and Bridgestone has a sport marketing relationship with this highly visible series, a company statement stated. Bridgestone and Bryson have ended their partnership as brand ambassadors, after Bryson DeChambeau announced that he will not be participating in these events.

DeChambeau used a Bridgestone golfball and was featured prominently in company marketing. Tiger WoodsAnd Fred Couples. Rocket Mortgage also reneged on its agreement with DeChambeau, so this isnt the first sponsorship DeChambeau has lost.

Jay Monahan, PGA Tour commissioner, made it clear that any player who leaves to join LIV Golf would be suspended from the tour. DeChambeau participated in one event which took place in Portland, Oregon, from June 30 through July 2.

DeChambeau recently appeared on a podcast called Country Club Adjacent and confirmed that he has signed a 4½-year contract with LIV Golf. He said that the $125 million figure was too low when the hosts suggested that it was.

DeChambeau stated that he would not reveal the details, but that it was close to what has been reported. Its a 4½-year deal, I can definitely tell you that, and a lot of it was upfront, which is great.
