MIDLAND, Mich. — Jennifer Kupcho, Lizette Salas won Saturdays Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. They finished with a 9-under 61 in Best-ball play, which was enough to win the 5-stroke event on the LPGA Tours lone Team Event.
The U.S. Solheim Cup partner finished at 26 under 254 at Midland Country Club. They opened Wednesday with a score of 68 in alternate shot and shot a best-ball 60 on Thursday. Friday saw them take a 4-stroke lead with an alternate-shot 64.
Kupcho won this years third and final Chevron Championship, while Salas won her first tour title. Kupcho won the major Chevron Championships in April in the California desert, and the Meijer LPGA Classic last March in Belmont (Michigan). Salas also won 2014 Kingsmill Championship.
Matilda Castren, Kelly Tan and Kelly Tan were second after a total of 62.
Maria Fassi, a former Arkansas player, shot a 59 and finished third at 20 under.
Cheyenne Knight, Elizabeth Szokol shot a 61 to match Tiffany Chans and Haeji Kangs 19-under scores. Chan and Kang shot a score of 62.
Annika Sorenstam, Madelene Sagstrom were tied for the first round lead. The second round ended with a tie at 28 under with a score of 66.
The 51-year old Sorenstam made her second LPGA Tour appearance of the year, and only her third since she retired after the 2008 season. The Hall of Famer was not able to make it last month at the U.S. Womens Open.
