Kirk Triplett edges ahead at Shaw Charity Classic in Canada

CALGARY (Alberta) — Kirk TriplettTo secure a 1-stroke lead in the Shaw Charity Classics final round, he shot a steady 2-under-68 on Saturday.

Playing in the last group with Paul GoydosFirst-round leader Padraig HarringtonTriplett, 60, moved into the lead after he made back-to-back birdies at the par-5 11th hole and the par-3 12th. He bogeyed on the next hole, and then closed with five straight pars for a total of 7 under 133 at Canyon Meadows.

Triplett is a eight-time winner of the PGA Tour Champions, with the most recent in 2019.

Goydos had three birdies on the front nine, and one bogey on his 13th hole in his round of 68. He was just 1 shot behind the leader. Jerry Kelly(66), who is third on the season-long Charles Schwab Cup standings. Steven AlkerSchwab Cup leader,, has decided to skip the tournament.
