Netherlands to host Solheim Cup for first time in 2026

LONDON — The Solheim Cup will take place in the Netherlands after the Netherlands was chosen to host the largest team event in womens tennis in 2026.

According to organizers, Tuesdays event will be hosted by Bernardus Golf. Cromvoirt is a village in the southern Netherlands near Den Bosch. It was opened in 2018. The course has hosted the Dutch Open on mens European tour 2021 and 2022 twice before and will host the event again next year.

Catriona Matthew was Europes captain in the Solheim Cup wins in 2019 and 2021. She described Bernardus as an amazing venue.

Matthew said that it reminded him a bit of a links course. There will be a lot more risk-reward than reward on the last few holes, so its exciting and thats exactly what the fans want to see.

The trophy will be defended by Europe against the United States at Finca Cortesin, Spain in September next Year.

The Solheim Cup will then be held in even years. Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia will host the Solheim Cup in 2024.
