ORLANDO (Fla.) — Brooke Henderson set a goal to be in contention more often as she entered the new LPGA Tour season. The Canadian is off to an excellent start, taking a four-shot lead in Fridays Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

Annika Sorenstam, a Hall of Famer, is playing in the celebrity division. Henderson made four birdies starting at the second hole and was 9-under-par by the time she reached the sixth tee. She played error-free for a 6-under-66 at Lake Nona

The 28 LPGA pros in winners-only quickly entered scramble mode to keep Hendersons attention. Hendersons closest rivals going into the third round were Nelly Korda, who is ranked No. The second-ranked player in this field, Charley Hull from England and Wei Ling Hsu (Taiwan), are the closest to Henderson. Each shot 69.

Henderson was sensational at start. She hit a few wedges close to tight holes to set up two of her early birdies. She also nearly holing an ace at the 171 yard fourth hole with a 6-iron. Playing with Sorenstam was a highlight of the start.

Henderson, who has only made one bogey over 36 holes, said: I feel like itll be something Ill always remember. Just one of these opportunities of a life time. We all look up and admire her on the tour. She is kind and a great player. I think we can all learn from her.

After missing several good shots on the front nine, Korda went off to work on her putting. She did however make four birdies after the 10th.

Hull, meanwhile fled the cold England to practice in Morocco for three days to prepare. She said that her swing was out-of-sort and worked hard to get below 70. She finished the round with a round of 70, along with Hsu, five strokes behind Henderson.

Obviously, I have been playing in the frost, it bounces miles. Our greens have thick leaves. Hull stated that these greens are much faster than what hes used to playing on. Yeah, I was thinking that the Americans definitely have a huge advantage today — but I love England to move anywhere else.

Hsu won the 2021 Pure Silk Championship and made six birdies. However, she was unable to make the 13th hole. She finished her 69 with five Pars.

Mardy Fisch, Davis Cup captain and tennis player Mardy Fish, took control among celebrities and athletes by scoring the equivalent of 67 in Modified Stableford scoring.

He has 78 points. Thats nine points more than Sorenstam (a Lake Nona resident) and Chad Pfeifer, a military veteran. Fish and Korda started their day in the early hours of the morning, rising early to see Sebastian Korda, Nellys younger brother, win his match at The Australian Open.
