Block, who is the head professional at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club located in Mission Viejo, California finished tied for fifteenth place at 1-over 281. The club professional’s best finish at the PGA Championship was since Lonnie NielsenIn 1986, tied for 11th place.
Block was exempted from the PGA Championship next year because he was in the top 15. He won’t need to play the PGA Professional Championship every year to qualify as he used to.
Block, 46 was also awarded an exemption for this week’s PGA Tour, the Charles Schwab Challenge. He is +50000 to win at the Caesars Sportsbook.
He took home a $288,333 check.
Block has cemented his reputation as a cult-hero by taking on the world’s best on the par-3 no. A hole-in one was recorded on Sunday at Oak Hill Country Club near Rochester, New York.
